Evaluating both camera and radar data from your Sportage, this system analyses information about other cars, pedestrians or cyclists crossing the road ahead – and activates a warning signal and braking to help avoid a potential collision with them. The Junction Turning function also detects any oncoming vehicles when making a left turn at an intersection. 7
NSCC maintains your specified set speed and ensures a safe distance to the vehicle ahead by controlling acceleration and deceleration. It also auto-decelerates your speed on any curvature based on road information provided by the navigation system. 8
When on the highway, this technology automatically adjusts your speed based on the speed limit detected or set by you. And controls steering, acceleration and deceleration, keeping you centred in your lane and a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
This system provides audible and visual warning of any vehicles in your blind spot area, and actively controls the vehicle to help avoid a collision. Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist provides the same assistance while in reverse, if vehicles are approaching from the left or right.
Remotely park or exit a parking spot while standing outside your Sportage, using a key fob to manoeuvre forwards and backwards. Meanwhile, the Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist system will provide a warning if an obstacle occurs while reverse parking, and will also apply the brakes to help avoid a collision.
Get a 360° 3D view of the space around your Sportage as you park, or when moving at speeds below 10 km/h - thanks to four wide-angle images from cameras at the rear, front and sides.
BVM uses side cameras so that when you indicate left or indicate right, your instrument cluster shows the view of the road in your blind spot. Indicate left and it will show you the rear view down your left-hand side; indicate right and it shows the right-side view.

Extra power for low-emission driving with no plug-in recharging needed. By cleverly pairing a Smartstream 1.6 liter Turbo 150 PS petrol engine with a 48-volt lithium-ion Polymer battery, Kia’s mild hybrid system in Sportage can reduce fuel consumption and vehicle emission levels. What’s more, the integrated ‘e-system’ recovers kinetic energy during deceleration phases to provide torque assistance when accelerating.
Battery power helps the engine work more quietly, adding torque and using less fuel. The engine is started by the ‘e-system’ to ensure a prompt and smooth start. During acceleration or uphill driving, the ‘e-system’ provides torque assistance by taking energy from the battery. When cruising at constant speed, the combustion engine partially recharges the battery if the charge level is low.
Mild hybrid technology lowers fuel costs and emissions with no extra effort to you! On models with iMT 9 , when you lift your foot from the throttle and let the car coast the engine switches off, resulting in fuel savings. When decelerating or braking, the energy generated by the vehicle motion recharges the battery. When decelerating to a stop, the combustion engine turns off automatically to save fuel.
